Pure Garlic is a family owned and operate farm in Gippsland, Victoria. We are passionate about producing high-quality garlic that doesn’t just taste amazing, but is grown using organic methods, free from any nasty chemicals, and 100% Australian. We love being able to connect with the community around us at our local farmer’s markets, and hope to see the garlic industry boosted here in Australia, as there is so much to enjoy, share, and learn about this incredible bulb and we can't get enough of it! Why Garlic? We always knew we wanted to raise our family on the land and embrace the joys, challenges and satisfaction that comes from the farming life. As a young, growing family we are increasingly aware of the food we eat and where it comes from. As we were doing our research into which crops might suit our location, we were surprised to find that over 80% of Australia's garlic is imported and usually treated or sprayed to preserve shelf life and meet quarantine requirements. Our decision was made. During the year of 2022, Sean left his job as an electrician and our family relocated to Brianna's childhood home in Gormandale to pursue a new passion: hand-farmed, organically grown, Australian garlic. |
How We Farm
Our garlic is grown and produced without the use of harmful chemicals.
We input organic matter and natural fertilisers into the soil, using crop rotation and sustainable practices.
As the garlic grows, it is treated to the occasional drink of Seasol and essential nutrients to boost soil health and vigour.
At the optimum time, our garlic is harvested by hand and cured in our purpose-built shedding.
The garlic is then hand sorted before being stored as seed stock, sold direct to customer, or processed into delicious and convenient products!
Through every step of the process our garlic is treated with the utmost care, resulting in a product that is certain to satisfy your tastebuds and nourish your body!
